Bringing together over 100 veterans, founders, entrepreneurs, and investors, the Charlotte Veteran Showcase allows veteran-owned businesses and startups the opportunity to present their companies and ideas to receive $50,000 in funding for their business. The showcase is the brainchild of Task Force X Capital, an advisory and venture capital firm for veteran-led startups, and Brandon Shelton, a US Army Veteran and founder of the firm.
2017 Recap
In October 2017, the 1st Annual Charlotte Veteran Showcase took place in Charlotte, NC at the Frontcourt Club in the Spectrum Center, home of the Charlotte Hornets. With over 120 in attendance, the event brought together many people in the veteran community for the opportunity to secure funding, network, and collaborate.
Nine companies, including our clients GoodUnited and ProctorFree, were allotted four minutes to present their ventures to a panel of judges comprised of principals and general partners from various companies. Mike Murphy, the co-founder of ProctorFree, walked away with the grand prize of $50,000 to invest in his exam proctoring startup.
